Upwas (Fast) Batata Vada
Ingredients
- 5 potatoes
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1 tsp cumin seeds or cumin powder
- Finely chopped coriander leaves
- 2-3 finely chopped green chilies
- Salt as per taste
- 2 cups singhada flour
- 2 cups of water

Recipe
Pressure cook potatoes for 3-4 whistles. Cool them completely and peel them off.
Take the potatoes in a mixing bowl and mash them nicely. Add red chili powder, cumin seeds or cumin powder, finely chopped coriander leaves and salt as per taste to it and mix well. Make medium sized balls out of it and keep them aside.
Take singhada flour in another mixing bowl, add salt as per taste and add little water to it and make paste of it for covering for our vadas.
Heat enough oil for frying.
Now dip one potato ball in the singhada flour batter, coat the ball nicely from each side and gently slip it in the oil for frying. Fry till you get nice golden brown color of the vada.
Fry all the vadas following the same procedure.
Serve hot.
