Aaloo Matar Dry

Dry and spicy Aaloo Matar recipe is one of classic Indian recipes with a fusion of potatoes and green peas. This is such a common recipe that you will find this on every restaurant menu card. This Aaloo Matar recipe is not just easy but best quick fix to any meal. You can have this dish for your lunch or dinner. Also being a dry dish you can carry it in your lunch box too. Aaloo Matar Dry Ingredients 5-6 medium sized potatoes Half cup green peas 1 onion sliced 3-4 garlic cloves 2 green chillies Salt as per taste 1 tsp red chili powder Half tsp turmeric powder 1 tsp cumin powder 1 tsp garam masala 1 tsp coriander powder 3-4 tsp coriander leaves 2 tsp oil Recipe Pressure cook potatoes for 3 whistles. Tawa Pulao is one of the famous street foods in Mumbai. Its like a fusion of Pav Bhaji and Fried Rice into a single dish. This dish can become a quick treat for your guests. The street vendors use a huge tawa to prepare this dish. This is a quick recipe if you have a left over rice. Tawa Pulao goes best with yogurt, raita or onion lemon salad or any pickle of your choice. Tawa Pulao Ingredients 2 cups of basmati rice (long grain rice) 1 large capsicum (green bell pepper) 1 large onion 1 large tomato 1 medium sized carrot Half cup peas 1 boiled potato 3-4 cauliflower florets 4-5 tsp coriander leaves. 2-3 tsp pav bhaji masala 1 tsp clarified butter (ghee) 2 tsp butter Recipe Wash rice nicely. Add 1 cup of water to the rice and coo it in microwave for 10 minutes. Take the rice out and add clarified butter to it and mix well. Dal Palak combines both the goodness of lentils and spinach. It is a healthy delicious and one of the most made palak recipes in Indian homes.  This dhaba style palak recipe is one of the perfect dish that will help you cooking fast and easily without spending much time in kitchen. This goes well with roti, paratha, naan, rice or tortilla. Dal Palak Ingredients 2 cups lentils (tuvar dal) Half cup gram dal (chana dal) 1/4th cup peanuts 2 green chillies 2 cups chopped spinach 1 tsp cumin powder Half tsp turmeric powder Half tsp red chili powder 1 tsp coriander powder 1 tsp garam masala Salt as per taste 1 onion 1 tomato 2 tsp oil Water  Recipe Wash lentils and gram dal nicely. Misal Pav one of the traditional Maharashtrian dish and also a popular Mumbai street food! Misal originates from Kolhapur and there we get the spiciest taste of misal. Misal is a spicy curry made with mixed sprouts or moth beans and pav are buns. Misal is garnished with Farsan (mix child) and is topped with onions, tomatoes, coriander leaves and spicy oil. At some places Misal is served with buttermilk or yogurt. Misal Pav Ingredients 2 cups mixed sprouts 4 onions 4 tomatoes 1 tsp mustard seeds 1 tsp cumin seeds 2 bay leaves 1 tsp ginger garlic paste 1 cup coriander leaves 2-3 tsp red chili powder 1 tsp turmeric powder 2 tsp garam masala 2 tsp cumin powder 2 tsp coriander powder Salt as per taste 2 pinches of asafoetida (hing) 2-3 cups water Recipe Soak the mixed sprouts of your choice in water for 6-7 hours. Peas Pulao is one of my favorite and one of the simplest one pot meal. This pulao can be made quickly and also tastes delicious. Same goes with Dal Fry. Simple and yummy dish goes best with pulao, paratha, tortilla, roti, naan etc. Both the dishes are easy to make and can be eaten up for dinners when you wish to make something really quick. Peas Pulao Ingredients 2 cups basmati rice (long grain rice) Half cup peas 1 tsp cumin seeds 2 tsp coriander leaves Salt as per taste 2 tsp clarified butter (ghee) 1/4th tsp turmeric powder (optional) Recipe Wash rice well and add 1 cup of water to it. Take the rice and water in a microwave safe bowl and cook the rice in microwave for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes take out the bowl from the microwave and add 1 tsp of clarified butter to it and add some more water to it. Again put the bowl in microwave for 5-6 minutes. Rajasthani food is incomplete without the mentioned fame Dal Baati. Dal baati is an Indian dish comprising Dal (lentils) and Baati (hard wheat rolls). Though this dish is from Rajasthan it also famous all over India. Again one of the most loved Indian dish we can say. Dal Ingredients 2 cups lentils (tuvar dal) 1 tsp mustard seeds 2-3 pinches of asafoetida 1 tsp turmeric powder 2 tsp red chili powder 1 tsp cumin powder 1 tsp coriander powder 2 tsp garam masala powder 4-5 pepper corns 2-3 cloves 2 bay leaves 1 inch cinnamon stick 1 medium onion chopped 3-4 garlic cloves Salt as per taste  2-3 tsp oil Water Recipe Pressure cook dal for 3-4 whistles. Palak Paratha is easy, healthy and delicious option for breakfast, lunch or dinner. These parathas go well with any chutney of your choice, ketchup or any vegetable or dal. This can also be good option to feed spinach to those kids who don't like to eat spinach as vegetable. It contains large amount of fibre along with lot of essential vitamins and minerals.  Palak Paratha Ingredients 2 cups wholes wheat flour 1 cup spinach leaves Half tsp carom seeds Half tsp red chili powder Half tsp cumin powder Oil Salt as per taste Water  Recipe Rinse spinach leaves nicely and finely chop them. Take whole wheat flour in a mixing bowl add salt as per taste, add carom seeds and spinach leaves to the wheat flour and mix well.
