Mix Vegetable Pulao is a most basic rice dish made up with variety of vegetables. Its an easy one pot rice cooked with mild spices. Pulao or Pilaf is the most common rice dishes that is often made in most Indian homes. It is most commonly served in parties or celebrations served along with raita or dal fry. There are few different variations of making pulao.  Today I am sharing a simple pulao recipe that goes good in lunch box or for a quick meal or for party. This pulao is very easy and can be served alone without any side dishes. Mix Vegetable Pulao Ingredients 2 cups basmati rice (long grain rice) 1 tsp ghee 1 onion 1 boiled potato 1 medium sized carrot 1 green bell pepper (capsicum) 4-5 cauliflower florets Half cup green peas 2 bay leaves 4-5 pepper corns 2-3 cloves Half inch cinnamon stick 2 tsp oil or butter Salt as per taste 2 tsp lemon juice 4-5 cashews chopped 5-6 raisins Recipe Wash rice nicely and add 1 cup of water to it and cook it in

Sooji Halwa

Sooji Halwa is a very popular Indian sweet dish and is made on religious occasions as prasad (for god). After prayer it is served to devotees as a blessing. Sooji Halwa is also known as Rawa Sheera. Sooji or Rawa is known as Semolina. Sooji Halwa Ingredients 1 cup sooji (rawa/semolina) 1 cup sugar 7-8 saffron strands (you can use saffron syrup) Half cup mixed dry fruits 1 cup milk 2-3 tsp clarified butter (ghee) Recipe Soak saffron strands in 3-4 tsp milk. Heat clarified butter (ghee) in a pan and add sooji to it. Roast sooji on a medium heat till the light sweet aroma comes out of it. Then add half of the milk to it and keep stirring. Add sugar. Here I have mentioned 1 cup sugar but the sweetness depends upon your taste so you can add sugar as per your taste. Add saffron and milk mixture and more milk to it if it is dry and mix well. Add mixed dry fruits and mix well. Cook well till you get a thick consistency of halwa or sheera. Serve hot.

Kadai Paneer is a preparation of paneer in a thick medium spicy gravy. Its a mouthwatering recipe that can be eaten up with rice, roti, naan, paratha or tortilla. This recipe is one of the best options as one meal dish or when you are hosting a party this can be served to your guests. Kadai Paneer Ingredients 250 gms paneer 3 tsp yogurt or curd 2 onions 1 tomato 3-4 cloves 3-4 pepper corns 2 bay leaves Half tsp cumin seeds Half tsp kauri methi (dry fenugreek leaves) 1/4th tsp black pepper powder 1 tsp red chili powder 1 tsp Kashmiri red chili powder Half tsp turmeric powder 1 tsp garam masala powder Half tsp cumin powder Half tsp coriander powder 3 tsp clarified butter (ghee) Half cup water Salt as per taste Recipe Roughly chop onions and tomato. Dahi Vada is a dish made up with fried urad dal (black gram) dumplings dipped in sweet and sour yogurt topped with spices. Its a kind of chaat and is very popular dish in India. Dahi Vada is also known as Dahi Bhalla in Punjabi. Before serving these vadas, they are soaked in water or buttermilk for half an hour at least. Experience bliss in every bite of this recipe. Black Eyed Pea is also known as Lobia or Chawli. This is a basic recipe. Easy and simple to make and also a healthy and protein rich dish for the whole family. Black Eyed Peas Curry Ingredients 2 cups black eyed peas 1 large tomato 1 large onion 1 tsp cumin seeds 3-4 tsp coriander leaves Half tsp dry mango powder 1 tsp red chili powder 1 tsp cumin powder 1 tsp coriander powder Half tsp turmeric powder 1 tsp garam masala 2-3 pinches of asafoetida Salt as per taste 2 tsp oil 2 cups water Recipe Soak the peas for 3-4 hours. Today sharing a soup recipe from Indo Chinese cuisine. This soup recipe is aptly titled Hot And Sour Soup. The hot element comes from black pepper or chillies or red and green chili sauces. The sour element comes from vinegar. The veggies in this soup depends upon your choice, you can add sprouts, mushrooms or mixed vegetables.
