DADPE POHE

 Dadpe Pohe is a Maharashtrian recipe that gives an amazing twist everyday rice flakes. Pohe, rice flakes or flattened rice is breakfast staple in most Maharashtrian homes. There is more than one way to prepare delicious poha. Kaanda poha has a lot of onions in it. Similarly, the batata poha has potatoes and no onion in it. The kaanda batata poha is the most common variety and has both onions and potatoes in it. The taste varies quite a lot if you alter the poha ingredients.  Dadpe Pohe recipe uses raw, unwashed poha, which is mixed with vegetables and tempered with very aromatic ingredients. Urad Dal batter is generally associated with the South Indian Vada, but here I am sharing a Pakoda Recipe made with urad dal batter and it tastes amazingly yummy. Though it is fried but I have tried adding little health to it by adding Spinach and Curry Leaves to it. Also onions, ginger and green chilies add an amazing crunch to it. Tomato Chutney goes well with Idli, Dosa, Roti, Paratha, Puri, Rice etc. The tangy and spicy taste of this chutney makes our breakfast, lunch or dinner yummier. This spicy chutney is made up with fresh ripe tomatoes. Tomato Chutney Ingredients 3 tomatoes 2 green chillies 3-4 garlic cloves 2-3 tsp coriander leaves Half tsp sugar 1 tsp olive oil Salt as per taste Recipe Wash tomatoes nicely and roughly chop them. Also roughly chop chillies and garlic cloves. Take tomatoes, garlic cloves, green chillies, coriander leaves, sugar, olive oil in a grinding jar. Paratha is a flat bread that originated in Indian Subcontinent. Parathas are often made for breakfast, lunch, dinner or tiffin boxes. Parathas are made of different varieties like plain paratha, stuffed or spiced paratha and many more. I usually make parathas when we have a rich gravy dish for dinner. Sometimes we like having parathas with pickle or chutneys of different types. Parathas go well with and dry or gravy vegetable, pickle, chutney or you can have it with butter or ghee. Today I am sharing a simple recipe of Spiced Paratha or we can also name it as Spicy Paratha. Misal Pav one of the traditional Maharashtrian dish and also a popular Mumbai street food! Misal originates from Kolhapur and there we get the spiciest taste of misal. Misal is a spicy curry made with mixed sprouts or moth beans and pav are buns. Misal is garnished with Farsan (mix child) and is topped with onions, tomatoes, coriander leaves and spicy oil. At some places Misal is served with buttermilk or yogurt. Dal Pakwan is an authentic breakfast delicacy in Sindhi homes. Visit a Sindhi family on a Sunday morning and you are likely to be greeted with the aroma of Dal Pakwan being prepared for breakfast. I remember we ordered this dish from a restaurant for our breakfast and we all loved the taste of this dish and later my mom tried making this at home, from then it is frequently prepared at our home too. We have this dish for breakfast, sometimes for lunch or dinner too.
