Almond Milk

Almond Milk or Badam Doodh is a sweet beverage drink from the Mughlai Cuisine. This is really delicious drink. This Almond Milk can be had hot or cold. In winters you can have it hot and in summers you can have it chilled.
A healthy, tasty and nutritious almond flavored beverage drink prepared with full cream milk and almonds. This energy drink can also be served to young kids and expecting pregnant mothers apart from all age groups.
There are several brands who do offer instant badam mix powder which has to be just mixed with boiling milk. While it certainly a time saver, but we need to be cautious about these products. Also we need to be careful about chemical preservatives added to these products. And most importantly the instant mix powder can never be freshly made, therefore I would recommend this traditional way of preparing the Almond Milk Recipe.

Almond Milk/Badam Doodh
Ingredients
  • 25-30 almonds
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/4th cup milk extra
  • Saffron strands
  • 3 tsp sugar
  • Few pinches of cardamom powder

Recipe

Soak almonds in warm water for at least 30 minutes.
Drain almonds and peel off the skin of almonds and transfer them in a grinding jar. Add 1/4th cup of milk to it and grind them to a smooth paste.

Now take milk in a pan to heat up. Keep stirring occasionally. Let the milk come to boil.
Add almond paste to it and mix well. Keep stirring and scrape the sides of pan.

Now add sugar to it and mix well. Now add cardamom powder and saffron strands to it.

Let the milk boil nicely for more 5 minutes.

Garnish with saffron strands and almonds and serve Almond Milk hot or chilled.
