Coconut Rice

Coconut Rice is a mild and light South Indian rice also known as Thengai Sadam.
This Coconut Rice recipe is made up using fresh grated coconut. It is very easy peasy to make and is one of the best option to enjoy on evenings when you wish to have one meal dish with your family. You can serve this tasty rice to your guests when you host a party.

Coconut Rice
Ingredients
  • 2 cups boiled rice
  • 1 cup fresh grated coconut
  • 1 tsp chana dal
  • 1 tsp urad dal
  • 2 dry red chilies
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds
  • 2 tsp oil (Coconut oil preferably)
  • Salt as per taste


Recipe

Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds to it and let them crackle. Now add chana dal and urad dal to it. Sauté the for 1 minute till they turn light golden brown in color. 

Then add dry red chili and sauté for 30 seconds.

Now add cooked rice and grated coconut to it. Season with salt and mix well.

Cook for 2 minutes, garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
