Khus Cooler

So today I am again sharing a Chilled recipe with you all Khus Cooler. 
Khus is also used as a flavouring agent, usually as khus syrup. Khus syrup is made by adding khus essence to sugar, water and citric acid syrup. Khus essence is dark green thick syrup made from the roots. It has a woody taste and a scent characteristic of khus. 
Vibrant green Khus Sharbat usually labeles as Khus Syrup can be found at South Asian Stores, but its availability may be limited to summer months.  Using this concentrated syrup you can make a variety of drinks by mixing in chilled water, lemon/lime sodas or ginger ale. Khus Syrup can also be used to flavour milkshakes or as a dessert syrup. 

So lets start up with our today's very simply and quickest recipe Khus Cooler. 



KHUS COOLER

Ingredients - 

  • 1 cup khus syrup 
  • 5 glass of water 
  • Half cup chia seeds
  • 5 tsp lemon juice
  • 2 tsp black salt 
  • Ice cubes 

Recipe - 

  1. Take khu syrup in a large bowl and add chia seeds to it, 
  2. Add water to it and mix well. 
Refrigerate the above mixture for upto 30 minutes. In this time the chia seeds will also get soaked niecly in the khus sharbat. 

  1. Now pour the ready sharbat in glasses. 
  2. Squeeze lemon juice to it 
  3. Season with black salt as per your taste, 
  4. Add ice and enjoy. 

*Note - You can also make the sharbat in glasses directly using chilled water and let the chia seeds soak in the glasses itself. 

*Note - Lemon and black salt can be added as per your taste.
