Chivda
Chivda is a crunchy savory snack that is quick and easy to make. We can also call it Spicy Crunchy Flattened Rice. You can store this in an air tight container and can have it anytime you wish like while watching TV, as tea time snack also you can serve this to your guests when they visit you.

Chivda
Ingredients
- 2 cups think flattened rice (thin poha)
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp coriander seeds
- 3-4 green chillies
- 1 small cup peanuts
- 10-12 curry leaves
- 1 tsp poppy seeds
- 2-3 tsp roasted chana (daliya)
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- Half tsp red chili powder
- Half tsp jeera powder
- Salt as per taste
- Powdered sugar as per taste
- 1 cup oil
Recipe
Roast flattened rice in a microwave for 1 minute. Take it out of microwave and toss it well and again microwave for 1 minute.
Heat half of the oil in a small wok and fry peanuts and roasted chana (daliya) in it. Fry till they become crispy.
Add these fried peanuts and chana to roasted poha.
Chop chillies and fry them till they become crispy. Add fried chillies to poha.
Also fry curry leaves till they become crispy and add them to poha.
Now add more oil in a wok and add cumin seeds to it and let them crackle nicely. Now add coriander seeds and poppy seeds to it. Mix them well. Now switch off the flame and add turmeric and red chili powder to it. Mix the tempering well and pour the tempering over the roasted poha. Add cumin powder, salt and sugar as per your taste and mix gently with your hands or using 2 spoons together.
After mixing all the ingredients together cover it with kitchen towel or with newspaper and let it cool down to the room temperature and store it in an air tight container.
Also you can serve it warm.
You can store this chivda for 3-4 weeks.
