Besan Chila

Besan Chila is one of the easiest recipe to make for breakfast or as an evening snack. This can also be one of the best and healthy options to serve it to your kids. You can take these Chilas in your lunch box too.
If you are using a non stick skillet for making these Chilas so you can simply make them oil free for diet cautious people ;)
Besan Chila is healthy, yummy soft dosa mildly spiced.



Besan Chila
Ingredients
  • 2 cups besan (gram flour)
  • 1 cup semolina
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • Half tsp turmeric powder
  • 2-3 tsp finely chopped coriander leaves
  • 2 tsp carom seeds (ajwain)
  • Salt as per taste
  • 2-3 cups water
  • Oil

Recipe

Take besan and semolina in a mixing bowl. Add dry spices red chili powder and turmeric powder to it. Add finely chopped coriander leaves and carom seeds to it and mix well. 
Now start adding little water to it and mix well. Make sure there should not be any lump in the mixture. Make the batter of pouring consistency. Now finally add salt as per your taste and let the batter rest for 10-15 minutes.

Heat a skillet and spread the batter evenly forming a round shape and cook the Chila from both the sides. Apply little oil on both the sides.
Following the same procedure make all the chilas.

Serve hot with tomato ketchup or any chutney or pickle of your choice.

Using a non stick skillet you can make oil free chilas too. Just need to cook from both the sides.
