Lasuniya Dal Tadka

Dal Tadka is one of the most loved dishes when we visit restaurants for dinner or lunch. Dal tadka is basically an extra tempering poured over Dal Fry and is served under the name of Dal Tadka.
Today I am adding an extra ingredient Garlic to the same tempering and presenting you an very yummy and garlicky dish Lasuniya Dal Tadka with you all.
Enjoy this Lasuniya Dal Tadka with Roti, Naan, Paratha, Jeera Rice or Pulao. This dal will never disappoint your taste buds and will become really popular by adding a twist to your meals.
I personally love this Lasuniya Dal Tadka with Paratha and Jeera Rice.

Lasuniya Dal Tadka
Ingredients
For Dal :-
  • 2 cups pigeon peas (Tuvar Dal) (Pressure cooked)
  • 1 tomato
  • 1 onion
  • 1 inch ginger
  • Half tsp red chili powder
  • Half tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp cumin and coriander powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 2 tsp butter
  • 1 cup water

For Tempering :-
  • 6 garlic cloves
  • 2 tsp red chili powder
  • 2 tsp oil

Recipe

Finely chop tomato and onion. Mince ginger.

Heat up butter in a pan and add chopped onion, tomato and minced ginger to it and mix well. Sauté nicely till all the ingredients are nicely cooked.

Now add dry spices to it and fry them for 30 seconds. Now add pressure cooked dal to it, season with salt and mix well. Add half cup of water and let it boil for 2 minutes.

Tempering :-

Chop garlic.
Heat up oil in a pan and add chopped garlic to it. Fry garlic on a medium heat till it turns golden brown. Switch off the flame and let it cool down a bit and add red chili powder to it and mix well. Stir continuously so the red chili powder won't burn.

Pour this tempering over the ready dal and serve.
