Rawa Idli With Coriander Garlic Chutney
Idli is a South Indian dish loved and enjoyed in all over India by everyone. We can have Idli with Sambhar, Chutney or Ketchup.
Preparing an idli batter usually takes 1-2 days. So today we I am sharing a simple recipe to make idli anytime you want. If you feel like having idli at your home so instantly you can prepare it and have. Rawa Idli is an instant recipe that you can easily make at your home without any mess.
*Note - Quantity of chillies depend upon your taste in chutney.
*Note - The quantity of rawa (semolina) and yogurt or buttermilk should be the same.
*Note - Add fruit salt just before you are ready to make idlis. Adding fruit salt at initial stage will make your idli rubbery.

Rawa Idli With Coriander Garlic Chutney
Ingredients (Rawa Idli)
- 3 cups of rawa (semolina)
- 3 cups of curd (yogurt) or sour buttermilk
- 1 sachet eno (fruit salt)
- Water (if needed)
- Salt as per your taste
- Oil for greasing
Recipe
Take rawa (semolina) in a mixing bowl add yogurt or buttermilk to it. Mix well. The batter should be of paste like consistency easy to pour. After mixing rawa and yogurt if you feel the mixture is bit thick then you can add water to it. Add salt as per your taste and mix well. Keep it aside for some time.
Grease the idli mould with oil and put the pressure cooker or idli maker on heat pouring water in it and let it boil.
Now add eno fruit salt to the mixture and mix well. Pour the mixture into the moulds and put them in the pressure cooker or idli maker and steam idli for 15 mins. Do not put whistle on the pressure cooker while steaming idlis.
After 15 mins take the idli out and serve hot with sambhar, ketchup or chutney of your choice.
Coriander Garlic Chutney
Ingredients
- 2 cups coriander leaves
- 4-5 garlic cloves
- 3-4 green chillies
- Salt as per your taste
- Water
Recipe
Blend all the ingredients into a smooth paste adding little water to it in a grinder. The chutney should be bit watery so add water accordingly.
