However this a simple Moong Dal Khichdi recipe that we are going to learn today. I prepare this recipe quite often specially for dinners as it is easy to prepare in jiffy or when you feel like having something light at dinner time.
Moreover it is a very tasty filling compared to other traditional rice recipes or even dal rice combination.

Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds and mustard seeds to it and let them crackle.

Then add onions and garlic to it and mix well.

Now add all the dry spices to it and add washed rice and split green moong dal to it.

Add 2 cups of water and season with salt as per your taste and mix well.

Cover the pan with lid. Keep stirring in between.

*Note - Be careful while cooking khichdi as water might spill out of pan.

Cook all the ingredients well. Add more water if needed.

Switch off the flame and let the steam settle down in pan for few minutes and serve with Ghee (Clarified Butter) or Tadka (Tempering).

*Note - You can also pressure cook this yummy khichdi for 2-3 whistles and it’s ready.
