Aaloo Matar Dry
Dry and spicy Aaloo Matar recipe is one of classic Indian recipes with a fusion of potatoes and green peas. This is such a common recipe that you will find this on every restaurant menu card. Aaloo Matar Dry
Ingredients
- 5-6 medium sized potatoes
- Half cup green peas
- 1 onion sliced
- 3-4 garlic cloves
- 2 green chillies
- Salt as per taste
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- Half tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 3-4 tsp coriander leaves
- 2 tsp oil
Recipe
Pressure cook potatoes for 3 whistles. Let them cool down for sometime.
Peel the potatoes off and chop them into cubes.
Slice onion thinly. Crush garlic using pestle and mortar.
Finely chop coriander leaves. Chop green chilies into small pieces.
Heat oil in a wok and add sliced onions to it. Cook onions till they become soft. Now add crushed garlic and cook till the rawness of garlic is gone.
Add green chillies and cook for a minute.
Now add dry spices red chili powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder and garam masala powder. Fry all the masalas for 1 minute.
Now add peas and potatoes to it. Add salt as per your taste and sprinkle coriander leaves over it. Mix well and cook the vegetable for 2 minutes stirring in between.
Serve hot with paratha, tortilla, bread or rice.
